The Fitzwilliam Museum, Virginia Woolf an exhibition inspired by her writings

Last week I visited the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. Whilst I was there I went to see the Virginia Woolf inspired exhibition. I must admit I am not familiar with her or her writing but that didn't stop me from understanding the vibe that was being put across at the exhibition. The exhibits where from female artists from the last 100 years and included a mixture of modern, classical paintings, fabrics and ceramics. The exhibit portrayed female creativity exploring the female struggle not only in art but in politics and female sexuality.

There was a real mix of work I particularly liked the fabrics on display. This one was by Marion Dorn 1938.

The work looked hand made using the screen printing technique and had an unrefined nature about it unlike digital fabric of today. Well worth a visit. P.S no photos oops
