My first try at weaving

This is the result of my first try at weaving, here are the instructions.

The loom consists of warp threads these are the vertical white threads you can see above. They are placed under tension on the loom. The threads can be lifted to create different patterns. This loom has 4 different shafts that can be lifted individually or together. i.e 1,2 or 1,4. Weaving instructions are displayed in boxed grids.

The top left is the plain weave and each box indicates a shaft. If the box is black then the shaft is lifted. This box is 8x8 which might look confusing but because it is repeated you can do this on a 4 shaft loom.

For example: top row= black white black white you would select shafts 1&3 put for yarn threw and repeat going the other way white black white black select shafts 2&4. this will give you the over and under weave.

The other weave examples are made using the same concept.

I had a go at these different patterns and used different sorts of yarns the possibilities are endless.
