fishy hats

In October last year I went to a talk at The Mo museum in Sheringham Norfolk about Gansey jumpers. These fisherman jumpers were made by local wives and daughters to keep their fathers and brothers warm when fishing in the north sea. This tradition has now gone but a few amazing woman and men refuse to let it disappear. The talk was amazing and put to rest some wives tales about the pattern designs and the myth that a family had one particular design, all not true. If you have time visit this museum and seaside town.

I have made some beany style hats replicating a sheringham design by Mrs Grice 1900 and they are for sale in the shop or message me to purchase.
